Michele Adams Proctor, CMP, Managing Consultant

Michele is a business strategist and Human Resources pioneer – delivering over 25 years of HR Management, Organizational Development, and leadership training to diverse and complex industries, which include the public, private, federal government, and higher education sectors.

A lifelong Washington DC resident, Michele enjoys spending time with her family, including her German Shepherd dog.  Writing books and tropical islands top her to do list for the future.  She is also involved in the community teaching adult learners.

Michele’s core competencies lie in the areas of Organizational Assessment and Development, Performance Management, Human Resources Management, Professional Development and Leadership Training, Transition and Change Management, Career Development, and Conflict Resolution.

Michele has held senior-level executive positions at the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l; at Howard University, Washington, DC as Assistant Vice President for Human Resources Management; and at Executive Transitions International, Inc. as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Consulting Services.  She is also an adjunct professor at the George Washington University, Washington, DC and Prince George’s Community College, Largo, MD.

In her capacity as the Assistant Vice President at Howard University, Michele was the principal HR executive overseeing the daily operations, development, and implementation of institutional human resource management programs, policies, and procedures University-wide including the University’s health care and enterprise facilities.  She also headed strategic planning activities in the development of performance within the HR function by developing solutions for improving productivity, increasing efficiencies, reducing costs, and taking advantage of opportunities.

As an independent consultant, Michele offers her services to individuals, organizations, businesses, institutions, and governments that wish to enhance business and marketing strategies, organizational design and development, operational standards, and career management.  Her mission is to be a resource and partner to these groups to help them maximize their core competencies, growth, and excellence. Her consulting and organizational effectiveness expertise has credited her with improving performance efficiencies within business units and operations by as much as 70%.

Michele has designed and engineered programs to help large and small, dynamic, and diverse employer groups save millions of dollars by improving operational and administrative procedures.  She has been the principal HR advisor to several CEO’s, corporate, and university presidents.

Michele holds a BBA in Personnel Management from the George Washington University, Washington, DC.  She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, The American Society for Training and Development, The Human Resources Association of the National Capital Area, The International Association of Career Management Professionals, and The International Society for Performance Improvement.  She has been certified as a mediator for the District of Columbia and as a Career Management Practitioner by the International Board of Career Management Certification.
